“Darkness is not the absence of light—it is the beginning of possibility.”
For more than two decades, I have dedicated my artistic practice to creating large-scale, site-specific light installations that transform the way we experience landscapes, architecture and public space. My work ranges from urban environments and UNESCO World Heritage sites to remote natural landscapes, cultural landmarks and major international public art events.
Each project begins with the unique identity of its location. Rather than imposing light onto a place, I seek to reveal its history, atmosphere and cultural significance through carefully composed, immersive experiences. Whether illuminating mountains, forests, coastlines, historic monuments or cityscapes, my ambition is always the same: to create moments of wonder that connect people with each other and with the places they inhabit.
This portfolio presents a selection of works created throughout my career, featuring international commissions alongside projects realised in my home country of Finland. Together, they reflect an ongoing exploration of light as a powerful artistic medium—one capable of transforming landscapes, creating shared memories and bringing people together across cultures and generations.
